The East San José PEACE Partnership (PEACE) connects local residents, schools, organizations, and agencies to advance violence prevention by supporting healthier, safer, and more peaceful communities across the 95116, 95122, and 95127 zip codes. PEACE uplifts our community’s strengths, celebrates our cultural pride, and prioritize social connections and healing. Through these collective efforts, we are creating a lasting legacy of peace and community action, ensuring that every individual feels connected, supported, and empowered to live a life free from violence.

Values and vision
PEACE is rooted in values of being community‑led and resident‑centered, uplifting racial equity, and focusing on violence prevention to transform systems to prevent harm before it occurs. We align our efforts through mutually reinforcing activities that build collective strength and resilience. Guided by these values, our work is organized around five pillars which together create a foundation for lasting peace, healing, and community action in East San José.
The five pillars

Structure
Our partnership brings together local leaders, residents, and organizations to address the inequities that drive violence while uplifting the strengths within our communities. The Leadership team of government and community leaders provides guidance, while workgroups turn ideas into action. Through the Wellness Fund, residents and community members help direct resources to support these projects and other collective impact efforts. At the center of this collaboration, the community guides decisions, while the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s Violence Prevention Program serves as the backbone coordinating and sustaining the work.

We are planting the seeds of relationships, trust, and capacity-building that will one day lead to system change.
