Recent Wellness Fund projects

Children of the Rainbow Park (LUNA Grante)

With support from the PEACE Wellness Fund, Next Door She LUNA grant supported community led revitalization efforts at Children of the Rainbow Park, transforming it into a vibrant and inclusive space for families in East San José. The project funded a community gathering that uplifted cultural expression, highlighted culturally relevant healing practices, and centered intergenerational placemaking. These efforts align with the Wellness Fund’s commitment to strengthening community connections and advancing primary violence prevention through cultural healing and expression.

Youth Retreat (Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence)

With support from the PEACE Wellness Fund, Next Door Solutions and partner agencies hosted a youth retreat as part of PEACE’s Youth & Placemaking Workgroup. The retreat provided young people with a safe space to build leadership, strengthen connections, and explore community healing. This initiative reflects the fund’s commitment to youth empowerment and trauma informed engagement.

Servant Partners (Urgent Community Needs)

Recent economic and social challenges have created additional barriers for families trying to access food and essential resources. This project identified critical gaps and expanded urgent food distribution efforts, increasing the availability of food items and connecting residents with basic needs support. These efforts helped community members meet immediate needs and access reliable information about available resources.
